VM Standards

Setting up the EU curricula on histology and histopathology involves mapping extensive research to ensure a comprehensive and standardized educational framework.

This process required a systematic approach that involved identifying key learning objectives, competencies, and skills necessary for students studying histology and histopathology within the European Union. The research involved exploring existing curricula, reviewing academic literature, consulting with subject matter experts, and analyzing best practices from reputable institutions.

Partners from 4 EU countries (Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria and Spain) got involved in a mapping research from 2 points of view:

  • Addressing the scientific literature regarding the application of VM in histology & histopathology, to establish the VM standards & procedures for universities involved.
  • Addressing the research on the teaching-learning topics that the histology & histopathology disciplines can be taught by using VM, to establish a standardized EU curriculum on histology & histopathology, to be used in medical universities.
